KICK is an organizer of the book “Transformar para Existir”, a partnership between ISB, Ufes and IJSN
KICK Group took part as an organizer of the book “Transformar para Existir: Políticas, Tecnologias e Justiça Climática” (Transforming to Exist: Policies, Technologies and Climate Justice), a collective publication born from the partnership between the Sustentabilidade Brasil Institute (ISB), the Graduate Program in Engineering and Sustainable Development of Ufes (PPGES-Ufes) and the Jones dos Santos Neves Institute (IJSN). The book was organized by Daniela Klein, Mariana Klein and Manoela Pagotto Nodari.
A work born from the Scientific Journey
The book brings together the articles selected in the first Scientific Journey of the Sustentabilidade Brasil National Conference 2025, held in Vitória (ES) from June 11 to 14, 2025. It has 16 articles and 48 authors, including researchers from public universities, federal institutes, government bodies and civil society organizations, grouped into four chapters:
- Governance, Public Policy and Environmental Justice;
- Territorial Management and Natural Resources;
- Technological Innovation and Circular Economy;
- Education, Society and Inclusion.
The topics span climate governance and regulatory frameworks, artificial intelligence applied to agriculture, payment for environmental services, inclusive education with recycled materials and the analysis of civil liability in the Samarco disaster. Together, they show that sustainability is at once technical, political, social and cultural.
KICK's role
Besides taking part in organizing the publication, KICK is present in the book with the introduction, signed by Mariana Klein and Daniela Klein, and with the article “Inclusion Methodologies for Climate Justice: lessons from CSB 2025” by Daniela Klein, Manoela Pagotto Nodari and Mariana Klein.

“One of the great challenges of the sustainability agenda is to create real connections between different kinds of knowledge. To break bubbles. Because solutions come through inclusive dialogue.” — Mariana Klein, ISB projects director and coordinator of the Scientific Journey
Gender parity among contributors is a premise: since its conception, the Sustentabilidade Brasil National Conference has taken diversity and inclusion as structuring criteria.
The book was published by Kick (Vitória, ES, 2026) in electronic format (PDF), with ISBN 978-65-979946-0-1.
Launch
The book was launched on April 24, 2026, at 9 a.m., at Cine Metrópolis, at the Federal University of Espírito Santo (Ufes), in Vitória, with free admission. The event also marked the announcement of the call for the 2026 CNSB Scientific Journey, whose first national stage will be in Paraíba, followed by Rio Grande do Norte and Espírito Santo.
